Alexandra, 31, first heard the news early Sunday morning, and her immediate reaction was disbelief. “It didn’t seem possible to me,” she said. “I chose these two random words, and Beyonce had the same vision?”

Now that the concept has had some time to sink in, the Boston-based entrepreneur sees it as synchronicity. “I see my business like a baby — it has my personality,” she says. “And with a baby, you’re going to start with a name, a name that shows a lot of depth and inspiration and enlightentment. Ultimately, this is the name of the most important person in Beyonce’s world, and I have the same type of intensity for my company.”

Although there’s much speculation as to why Beyonce and Jay-Z chose that particular name, Alexandra came up with the name after a intense six-month process. “We wanted to brand ourselves as being of a certain caliber and have a name that would resonate with customers, a name of a company someone would want to sign a contract with. Through that process, we thought of things that were elegant, pretty, sophisticated. I liked the word ‘ivy’ because it’s prestigious, romantic, growing, goes with the seasons. I liked the way it sounded and looked. With ‘blue,’ we wanted to be edgy, and a blue flower is something very unique.”

On the downside, Alexandra’s business name has been dethroned in Google searches by the power couple’s baby. She is now working the “if you can’t beat them, join them” approach — she has done whirlwind media appearances, posted a banner on her website that says “CONGRATS to our SOUL MATE Couple with Baby Blue Ivy!” posted messages on her Facebook and tweeted “event planning company came first … Beyonce 2nd …” and “Beyonce’s daughter just validated how artistic we care to be. Love IT!”

As far potential clients, Alexandra is counting on this to be a competitive advantage rather than a source of confusion. “This is the biggest compliment in the world for me,” she says. “Would brides rather work with someone who has the same taste as Beyonce, or some random human being?”

Alexandra hopes for at least one other perk: She wants Blue Ivy to host Blue Ivy’s first birthday party. At the very least, she hopes to hear from Beyonce herself about their unusual connection. “Did she know we existed?” she asks. “It would be great to hear from the horse’s mouth.”

TRENTON, N.J. –  The Republican leader of the New Jersey Assembly collapsed and died at the Statehouse late Monday, the final day of the legislative session.

Assemblyman Alex DeCroce, 75, collapsed in a men’s room around 11 p.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Assemblyman Herb Conaway, the Legislature’s only physician, attended to DeCroce at the scene. Gov. Chris Christie, a fellow Republican and personal friend of DeCroce for 20 years, confirmed the death 2 1/2 hours later.

“Tonight I lost a dear friend, colleague and mentor,” Christie said in a statement. “He helped to give me my start in elective politics in Morris County in 1993. He was one of the most kind, considerate and trustworthy people I have ever had the pleasure to know. This is an enormous loss for our state and for me personally.”

The lawmaker’s sudden death threw into turmoil the Legislature’s reorganization plans for Tuesday and caused Christie to delay his annual state-of-the-state address. The Assembly and Senate greatly scaled back swearing-in ceremonies for new members. Christie planned to deliver remarks about DeCroce on the floor of the Assembly in lieu of his scheduled address.

DeCroce’s death shocked lawmakers and legislative staff who had been working with him all evening as the Legislature wrapped up its session with a flurry of last-minute bills. One of his final acts as the GOP leader was to accuse Democrats of casting votes for an absent member.

An obviously emotional Christie returned to the capital around midnight, wearing a sport jacket over a T-shirt and loafers but no socks.

The governor was seen breaking down while embracing Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver and other legislative leaders.

Oliver and incoming Majority Leader Lou Greenwald, both Democrats, issued a joint statement.

“The Assembly and the State of New Jersey has been struck by a terrible and shocking loss,” they said. “Alex DeCroce was a friend, colleague and leader. He was a dedicated public servant. He was a true New Jerseyan. He was always someone ready with a handshake and a laugh, no matter the circumstance, and his devotion to the people of New Jersey was unwavering. The Assembly has lost one of its great institutions.”

DeCroce’s body, covered and placed on a stretcher, was removed from the ground floor of the Statehouse about 12:40 a.m.

The lawmaker, from Parsippany-Troy Hills, served in the Assembly since 1989 and became the GOP’s leader there in 2003.

His district includes parts of Morris and Passaic counties.

He was also president of a Parsippany real estate company.

His wife, Betty Lou DeCroce, is a deputy commissioner with the Department of Community Affairs.

DeCroce’s death comes on the heels of the passing of another GOP assemblyman. Peter Biondi Nov. 10 — two days after he was re-elected to an eighth term.

And yes, the boy can sing, which is why they’ve kept him around on “Glee” even longer than his prize as the winner of “The Glee Project” initially called for. But how many more episodes will he be on? Is he coming back next season? And when is he going to get a love interest?

I caught up with McGinty at Fox’s Television Critics Association party to get all that scoop and more, including whether or not he plans to return to the Oxygen reality show that made him a star, and which of the leading ladies on “Glee” fans want to see him with.

When is Rory going to get some really good stuff to do?
You know, it’s weird this season because so many of the core characters are graduating — there hasn’t been any new characters this season apart from me. It’s hard for a new character to come in because the “Glee” audience wants to see the originals before they graduate. I think Ryan [Murphy] is nurturing me; he’s growing me.

Do you feel that?
Yeah, I really do. So far I’ve been in six episodes, and three of them I’ve had a big part in. For me, that’s good because I’ve never done this before … I’ve never done acting before. It’s crazy, but it’s really helpful for me to sit back and watch Lea [Michele] do her thing. I’m loving it — it’s what I needed.

So next season you’ll be ready to really go all out?
I hope so! That’s my plan. It’s a done deal!

Is it? Are you for sure coming back for next season?
No, that’s not a done deal yet … it hasn’t been made official. I did win seven episodes, I’m on my tenth, so … things are going good. [Laughs]

You mentioned Lea — does she understand you now? I know she was having a really hard time with your accent …
Yes! She worked on it for like three or four months — we’re now in the fifth or sixth month and she almost has me. [Laughs] I love Lea … she’s so inspirational. She’s so professional in what she does. She’s amazing. She’s welcomed me with open arms. On set, she’s like my big sister. I didn’t imagine that happening, but she really is.

But your boys are still your boys …
My boys — oh yeah, absolutely! Kevin McHale is probably one of my best friends. Chord Overstreet is such a good guy; Cory Monteith and Mark Salling, hilarious; Chris Colfer, such a nice guy; Darren Criss, amazing. I can’t speak highly enough of them — they’re all amazing.

For the next season of “The Glee Project,” will you be back as a mentor?
We’re having talks … talks are ongoing. I hope to be back because I feel like last season I had … whatever the ultimate “Glee Project” experience is, I think I had it. I also believe I could give them a lot of good advice because I know exactly what’s going to come their way.

There’s no way to prepare!
No, there’s no way to prepare for this. “The Glee Project” really helped — what I didn’t realize was how much work is involved outside of work. I’m such a normal, small-time guy, and I’m not used to red carpet events and Hollywood freaking parties. I’d rather sit in and play Xbox! [Laughs] It’s crazy. But I realize that it’s part of my job, and I will never say no to anything.

What about a love interest for Rory? I think it’s time!
It is time! At the minute, I don’t know exactly what’s going to happen, but I spoke to Ryan on Friday and there’s a storyline coming up with me and a few other characters, so we’ll see what happens.

Wait, multiple love interests?
We’ll see! [Laughs] That’s “Glee XXX.” I don’t think Rory’s a threesome kind of guy!

I don’t know if he’d know how to handle even one girl! Who would be your choice, or who do fans say they’d like to see Rory with most?
They’re all beautiful, but I get Quinn a lot — a lot of people tell me, “You should turn Quinn good.” [Laughs] She needs a little Irish person — a little Irish leprechaun. We’ll see what happens.
